About Sandra Woolard | Artist
Sandra Woolard is a printmaker and watercolour artist, living and working on the Gold Coast. She has been running a successful art practice for ten years, having discovered her talent aged “50 something”. Sandra enjoys expressing herself with charcoal as well as the gentle magic of watercolours. Her portraits are simply exquisite. Sandra’s spectacular etchings are produced on zinc or aluminium, using nitric acid or copper sulphate to etch back the image. Collagraph prints are “carvings” created by relief or intaglio into a surface, usually mattboard, which is protected with shellac before being inked up and drawn through the printing press.
Sandra has held several one woman exhibitions and her printmaking art is often exhibited at Impress Studio and Gallery in Brisbane. She had won several awards.
