This is part two of a series where I attempt to articulate the invisible torments that pursue humanity - both physical and emotional.

Being blessed with fertility comes with a mixed bag. Many women suffer from endometriosis - a thickening of the lining outside the womb. For decades, women experiencing this agony were told they were either over-reacting, hysterical, or suffering from mental illness. Alas, the pain is very real, and the medical community have a slightly better understanding of this condition. Ironically, many women with endometriosis struggle to have children – surely the pain of womanhood should be rewarded, not part of a punishment!

Curled in the foetal position, writhing with abdominal, pelvic and back pain. Invisible searing knives tear through the torso resulting in a delirium so intense, vision spins out of control.
