A commission for Ian from Vancouver who has an interest in aquatic erotica. The title gives reference to Hokusai’s ‘Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife’.
This was my first attempt at acid etching aluminium. I went in gang busters and worked with a piece 75cm x 50cm. I’ve since been told that’s a little bit over the top. There was a rather hysterical phone call to a friend when the concoction started to bubble and toil. I’ve now know that sunlight and heat accelerates the etching process somewhat, and to work in the shade with a face mask. Live and learn I say.

Aluminium was masked and then acid etched to achieve depth. it was then remarked and coloured acrylic ink airbrushed in sections, with black ink brushwork.
