According to Japanese legend, Namazu is an enormous catfish that lurks in the depths of the ocean. One flick of his tail will result in the horrific tremors that rock Japan regularly. He is kept on his best behaviour by the god Kashima, but even gods need holidays! Every now and then, the wicked Namazu breaks free and wriggles his tail with catastrophic consequences.
