Germaine Greer shook the foundations of a predominantly chauvinist society in the 70s. Her seminal work, The Female Eunuch became the fire in the belly for the feminist movement. Her language was cutting and served as a deadly weapon in her role as Boadicea in the fight for equality. The act of removing her mouth and replacing it with vipers is an expression of the power she held through her words. Take away her ability to speak and she becomes impotent – a eunuch of sorts.
