In ancient Greek mythology, order in the universe formed out of Chaos in the shape of Ouranus (Uranus) and Gaia, the sky and earth. From their union the world that we know emerged.
I confess I have been reading Stephen Fry's Mythos, and I have taken a few liberties with his retelling of the origins of the mythological Greek universe - but what is art if not an opportunity to retell a story?
This diminutive pewter form has emerged from the creative wormhole I fondly refer to as The Vortex (ie. my workshop). Chaos reigns supreme there, so it seems appropriate!
As heavy as Hades, but shimmery as Apollo.
